STEP ONE

Take everything out of the pantry and organize items into groups. Fully expect to not be able to see your countertops. Transfer bulk goods (rice, nuts, dry good, etc.) into mason jars for an attractive and effective means of storage.

STEP TWO

Determine the pantry categories. This can include, but not be limited to, canned goods, pasta, snacks, baking, beverages, paper goods, booze-ahols, coffee, pet supplies, condiments, vitamins, etc. You just name ‘em whatever the heck you want. Place items back in the pantry, give them a home.

STEP THREE

Decide on what style storage bin fits your lifestyle best—plastic, wire, woven, stackable, sectional, the options are endless! Take the dimensions from each shelf and determine the size and amount of baskets needed. I opted for these mint green baskets from Targét with a steady mix of rattan baskets collecting dust in my attic. Waste not, want not.

STEP FOUR

Don’t let those baskets go back empty-labeled. I used a tiny notepad and wrote out my labels by hand. If you don’t love your handwriting, download my printable with common categories you can cut out, “laminate” with packing tape and mount to each storage bin. Sort similar sized bins together to make this pantry even easier on the eyes.

STEP FIVE

The pantry crème de la crème? LIGHTING! 💡 Self-adhesive push or remote-controlled puck lights are a great and affordable way to find what you’re looking for and stay motivated to keep the pantry so cataloged.
