Door Draft Stopper or Draft Guard
¾” Brown Leather Strap
½” Brass Grommets
Brass Phillips Head Wood Screws (#6)
Phillips Head Screwdriver
Hammer
Scissors
Scrap Wood
X-Acto Knife
Power Drill + 5/64 Drill Bit

INSTRUCTIONS
First, measure out the opening and find yourself a fine draft stopper (this is where I found mine years ago).
Remove the door from the hinges. Then, measure out the spacing of each strap along the bottom base of the door. Remember to take into account the girth of the draft stopper before deciding on the length. I recommend three to four sections to hold the draft stopper taut. Cut straps to length with a scissor. Do this with great precision, as your cut will be visible on the top-end.
Grab a piece of scrap wood and mark grommet holes on the ends of each strap. Be attentive to leave room for overlap, at least ½” to ¾” from the edge. Use a hammer to drive a phillips head screwdriver through the leather strap. If you’re struggling to make the hole, grab an x-acto knife to slice it open. You may want to cut excess to make room for the grommets.
Set up the grommet kit and hammer each into place. Pre-drill holes on the bottom of the door. Then use wood screws to secure. Return the door to the hinges.
With straps secured to the bottom, place the draft stopper over each strap and mark placement on the front-bottom base of the door. Pre-drill once again and secure with wood screws.
