HEY YOU!! WASSUP?!
Welcome to my humble internet abode, Jessica Brigham, Magazine Ready for Life, the place to equip and empower creatively-inclined women to live out their best magazine-ready life. Here I’ll breakdown my personal lifestyle tips to inspire your strong desire to create an intentional and fulfilled life around home design, healthy food, and home organization.Listen, girl; a little bit of planning, will go one long, heckuva way.
HOW IT ALL BEGAN
So, as a good Italian would say, it’s all my Ma’s fault. 😂 Ever since I was a little girl, she’s loved antiquing, DIY-ing, house hunting and keeping a neat, mag-ready home. Not so much cooking, that one goes to Grandma. They both foundationally taught me how to design and cook the exact same way: intuitively and “by eye.”
Home has always been my sanctuary—my place to retreat—and a reflection of who I am at any given time.
My home vibe has rapidly evolved since January 2017. I’m often embracing (and trusting my gut about) a wilder, more vibrant atmosphere. I’ve always been an eclectic collector and a lover of color. I’m avidly inspired by the glammy ’20-30s, mid century, and the boho vibes of my grandmother-in-law’s Southern California home.
I like challenging myself to combine big, bold and beautiful (BBBs) statement pieces + thrifted goods with my husband’s California roots. The Brigham Craftsman has since grown into a modern-eclectic-glam abode that’s super cozy to all who enter.
I’m all about creating high end design on a dime. It’s the relentless thrifter embedded inside me. If you’re in need of a refresh, check out my design services. I totally want to hang and talk pretty with you.
A FEW TIDDLE BITS
I’m a professional photographer as well as creative jack-of-all-trades (which is a nice way of saying I have way too many hobbies and interests).
I’m an early riser, a tidy house keeper, an avid yogi, and if I don’t have multiple artsy fartsy, extracurricular projects going on the side, my brain may implode.
I’m a chef on the side, a chronic house rearranger, a DIY-er who likes to get her hands dirty, and a green thumb kinda gal. Mostly, I love my nail gun.
I’m married to my dashing husband, Christopher, “El Capitan” 👨🏻🚒💕 and we live in a 1934 Craftsman Bungalow with two cooky cats, Sylvester + Stevie, and goofy mutt, Murphy. FUN FACT: we closed two days before we got married (we cray).
I have a knack for making up my own old sayings, which I correlate to my Mom making up song lyrics in the car throughout my entire childhood. Actually, who am I kidding? She’s my “Ma.” Thanks, Ma!!
Born and raised in Queens, New York by off-the-boat Italians, I’m well known for being vivacious and talking with my hands (this 🙌🏻 will always be my favorite emoji). I also use emojis like they’re going out of style. 🎉👏🏻🙋🏻✨
Welcome to my online magazine.
Enjoy the general sassiness and spontaneous creativity.
