These stringy guys tend to be pricey, albeit totally worth it with the know-how on keeping ‘em alive. Got a gripe with String of Pearls? Here’s how she’ll thrive from one little vine:

DIRECTIONS

Procure yourself a precious string of pearls and make a few cuttings. Or perhaps a very good frond who loves you enough to bestow said cuttings.

Fill a planter with fresh potting soil. Press the cutting firmly into the soil to ensure the vine is making good contact. The new baby roots will grow right into it.

Water lightly once a week and permanently position your budding cutting in a window with bright, morning sunshine. This sunny, southeast-facing placement is muy importante.

Now patience, grasshoppaaah. It’ll take about three to six weeks for the roots to establish and encourage those beauteous, bubbly balls to grow.

THAT 👏🏻 IS 👏🏻 IT!!! 👏🏻

How long did it take for me to grow this mammoth String of Pearls? It took three to four cuttings—plus two supplemental cuttings somewhere in the middle of—eight months to densen up. Grow, gurl, grow. 🌿

Fun fact: wherever I’ve made a cut, the String of Pearls vine tends to grow new little bb vines. Pretty dang cute.
