Elderflower Lemonade Fizz + Giveaway Winner!!

One day I was strolling my local grocery store when I came across this pretty little thang. She was pink and precious. Her name was Elderflower & Rose Lemonade. Handcrafted by Belvoir Fruit Farms. I had to buy it.

It started with looks. It’s true; I judged this bottle by its cover (and ingredients, obvy). A quick web search later, I quickly discovered a brand story that made me smile. Family-run since 1984, the story behind this fine cordial maker is of high, artisanal quality and community. They’re still creating cordials from fresh picked elderflowers basking in warm sunlight. The town gathers to help harvest. Not to mention, the old photograph timeline tugged my heartstrings to astronomical levels.

Let’s talk ingredients. The elderflower lemonade is an elixir of elderflowers, lemon juice, spring water, and rose petal extract. I wondered if the rose petal extract would aromatically send me wafting into orbit much like truffle oil topples over almost every Chopped judge. Alas, this recipe is well-balanced with a gentle fizz. The sweet, floral note is just right and the blush hue just lovely.

After a few concoctions, I settled on a boozy libation harking back to late nights at the speakeasy. The light heat enhances the floral note and the fresh picked mint brings it full circle. Our formidable mint patch is already growing in … invasive bastard. It’s a love/hate relationship.

Anywho, let’s make this cocktail, shall we?! We’ve got some celebrating to do. 👯
