I imagine in “Somehow I Manage” by Michael Scott there must be a section on coping with losing big gaps of time during the workday. 😂 Considering I was physically in Ireland last week, I’d say this past week has been a success so far.

This week was all about do-it-yourself decor. First up: my colorful DIY kilim bench! Tutorial coming next week!!! This is a project I was most excited about for two reasons: 1) I got to build shit and 2) my version was waaaay more affordable than the retail competition. The lowest price range for the most fly bench I found is in the $400s (check it out here). Mine cost about $160 all-in.

Next up: honeycomb hexagon shelves!! A work in progress (which means I sought to finish before today’s update, but alas, life 🙄), I’m looking to incorporate a very special-to-my-heart color with these bad boys. With the right tools, these shelves are surprisingly easy to make. And you can’t beat the price. The total cost for seven shelves: $35. Compare that to Crate + Barrel’s similar version for $69 a piece! Uhhh, hello. A video tutorial + full article on the way in the next couple of weeks!

Lastly, I finally tried my hands at a sleek and simple macrame plant hanger. I’m incorporating greenery in the window area flanking the bedside. I’ll have three pots, two on one side, one on the other. I found a great set of turquoise-y, cyan pots at Big Lots nonetheless for only $26!!

I seriously cannot believe it’s week five of the one room challenge. I’m going to go ahead a pull an Irish goodbye ‘cause I’ve got work to do, sista!
