WHERE WE STARTED

My clients reached out in the early planning stages of a complete basement overhaul seeking Hollywood Regency meets Miami-Palm Springs.

The color palette was strongly inspired by the oversized, seven-foot long, oblong artwork in the vision board that came with the house. Who else wants to move into a house only to discover a bitchin’ artwork like that? It me. 🙋🏻‍♀️

SHOPPING LIST + DESIGNER’S NOTES

The design focused on a cozy and playful place for the family of four. I repurposed furnishings wherever possible including the client’s existing sofa; upright piano (plus paint color inspiration); painting the existing cabinets; and turning the built-in, wood soffit lighting (that were not doing the space any favors) into paneling for a petite peninsula for the kitchenette to-be-turned wet bar.

Needless to say, these homeowners are not afraid of color! They even added a killer barrel sauna in the adjacent courtyard. Be still my heart.
